The purpose of the United Methodist Men:  The organized unit of United Methodist Men shall be a community of men whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ: to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries of the church.

The UMM have a breakfast meeting the third Saturday of every month at 8:00 am during Daylight Savings time and at 9:00 am the remainder of the year.

United Methodist Men Projects

The Disciple Worship and Bible Study at Harnett Woods is held each Tuesday at 2:30 pm. Members of our church conduct a Worship Service including hymn singing, prayer, and Bible Study for the residents and staff at Harnett Woods Nursing Home in Dunn.  This ministry is currently on-hold due to COVID-19 safety precautions and guidelines.

Share the Warmth coat collection and give away.  Donations of “gently used” coats, hats, gloves, sweaters, and scarves are received throughout the year and distributed in early fall, free of charge, to needy men, women, and children in the community.

 

First Responders Recognition and Appreciation Dinner is given to honor our local fire department, police department and sheriff’s office every spring in appreciation for all they do for our community.

Maundy Thursday Last Supper Dramatization and Holy Communion is a free reenactment of The Last Supper given every year on Maundy Thursday as part of the series of Holy Week Services.

 

Christmas Treat Bags are bags of fruit and candy purchased by the United Methodist Men and given to all families who attend the annual Children’s Christmas Program in December.

Mission Projects:  From time to time the United Methodist Men provide financial support for various local and foreign mission projects.

Miscellaneous Church Facility and Event Projects: Members of the United Methodist Men provide labor and assistance to support various church events throughout the year.  Those needing assistance can complete a “Work Request Form” available in the church office.
